Charleston lost by a single stroke in a tiebreaker to Mt. Zion on Thursday afternoon in Apollo Conference boys golf action at Charleston Country Club.

Pierson Smith fired a 2-over-par 38, the low score of the round, to help the Trojans shoot 167 overall – the same score for the Braves’ top four golfers.

That sent the match to a tiebreaker, the number of strokes by each team’s fifth-best scorer. Both Preston Phillips and Cade Landrus each shots 48s, one stroke more than Mt. Zion’s Jack Driscoll.

Jackson Becker shot CHS’s second-best score at 42, followed by Josh Will (43) and Logan Beals (44).
