Please, click here to donate. Help us cover local sports.

As publishers of the not-for-profit Coles County Sports, we have never accepted compensation to write, edit, plan and produce content for this website. We do what we do in order to give recognition to local athletes. However, we cannot cover high school, Lake Land College and amateur sports in our county by ourselves. We both have full-time jobs. So we rely on a hard-working team of free-lance writers/photographers who contribute their talents for below-market fees when we cannot write stories.

We have been fortunate to have had several local businesses and organizations donate during the past few years. You can find their names and logos on the right side of this website. Many, many thanks to them all.

But we cannot keep relying on the generosity of the same few businesses. That’s why we are now including this donation button on the website. If you appreciate our coverage, please consider a donation. 100% of every donation goes directly to covering local sports, which includes state fees, website maintenance costs and nominal fees for writers & photographers. As publishers, we donate our own time in running the website, preparing & editing content and writing stories.

We would like to continue the level of coverage we have offered the past 2-plus years – although we would like to increase that coverage by hiring even more local writers. But, rest assured, we will continue to do the best we can, regardless, because local athletes and coaches should get recognized for their hard work.

We are a 501(c)(3) so, we are told, donations should be tax-deductible. Thanks for your support. Good luck to our local athletes. And happy holidays!
