CHS Boys Golf @ Mount Zion, 4 p.m. 

Charleston is coming off a heart-breaking loss to Mt. Zion on Thursday night in a match that went to a tiebreaker. The Trojans had defeated both host Olney and Teutopolis on Wednesday. This came after a narrow four-stroke loss to Mattoon on Tuesday, Jackson Becker emerged with a 2-over-par 37 on Wednesday, while newcomer Cade Landrus fired a 39 to lead the Trojans. Landrus improved his score by nine strokes compared to Tuesday’s final of 48. Pierson Smith, Josh Will, and Logan Beals look to continue their consistencies of low 40s. This will take place at Decatur’s South Side Country Club. 


CHS Girls Tennis @ St. Anthony Invite, 9 a.m.

Among the teams at the St. Anthony Invite will include Charleston, Effingham, and Teutopolis. The young, inexperienced Lady Trojans were recently swept by, T-Town, 9-0. St. Anthony lost last year’s sectional singles champion in Emma Mossman but returns senior Allison Kowalke who qualified for state in doubles. 

Effingham placed second in the Apollo Conference last year but lost Carolina Kull to graduation. Kull finished fourth in singles competition and paired up with Riley Arend to place second in doubles.
