Mattoon Middle wrestling team will be heavily represented at the IESA Jacksonville Sectional after zix members of the team won a regional championship.

Blaze Edwards (65 Pounds), Creed Cale (70 Pounds), Jaxtyn Howell (75 Pounds), Memphys Howell (85 Pounds), Jackson Morgan (135 Pounds), and Mitchell Clapp (215 Pounds) all won individual titles.

Three Wildcats finished second, losing in the regional championship – Holden Barr (119 Pounds), Brody Goonan (126 Pounds), and Landon Miller (275 Pounds) all advanced.

Also advancing were third-place finishers Braylon Hooker (80 Pounds) and Payton Echols (167 Pounds).

The following wrestlers finished fourth but will not move on to the sectional: Gage Dasch (85 Pounds), Ty Lytle (100 Pounds), Jaxson Bagwell (105 Pounds), Abel Reed (112 Pounds), Devlin Janes (119 Pounds), Dakari Brown (126 Pounds), and McKeil Burks (185 Pounds).
