Quincy Hamilton scored one goal and assisted on another to help Mattoon top Teutopolis, 3-0, in boys soccer Monday.

The game was scoreless until the 25th minute when Mitchell Gergeni scored an unassisted goal to put the Green Wave ahead 1-0. That score held through the first half.

With 20 minutes remaining in the game, Nathan Morgan sent a cross into the penalty box where a Teutopolis player was called for a handball. Mattoon was awarded a penalty kick that Quincy Hamilton converted to make it 2-0.

Andy Karpus finished the scoring 12 minutes later on a breakaway that was assisted by Hamilton.

The win improves Mattoon’s record to 4-1 on the season. The Green Wave return to conference play at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Effingham High School.
