Charleston’s Angela Coe broke her own school records in two events during a trimeet held at the EIU pool Saturday afternoon.

Coe, who broke eight school swim records last season, won the 50-yard free by 3.21 seconds in a blazing fast time of 23.40 seconds. Freshman Lilly Zerbst took third in 29.69.

Coe also captured the 100 backstroke in 56.91 seconds, 12 seconds faster than the next fastest swimmer from Mahomet, for her other record.

Mackenzie Erixon captured two free style events, winning the 200 in 2:14.70 and the 500 in 5:59.97.

Delaney Goddard, meanwhile, had personal bests in winning both the 100 free in 1:03.69 and in placing third in the 200 Individual Medley in 2:50.59. Ava Zheng took second in 2:36.28 for the IM.

Sisters Stacy and Lilly Zerbst earned the top two spots in the 100 breast, clocking in at 1:25.32 and 1:25.41, respectively.

Coe led off a victorious 400-free relay, teaming with Erixon, Zheng and Molly Weber to finish in 4:04.68.

Charleston tallied 233 points to win the meet, 67 more than runner-up Mahomet. St. Thomas More earned 38 points.

The Trojans posted 27 personal bests overall in the meet.
