Quincy Hamilton posted a hat trick to help lead Mattoon High boys soccer to its third straight rout Tuesday evening, a 7-0 victory over Olney.

The Green Wave have outscored opponents 22-3 in their first three games, which includes two shutouts.

Mattoon opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Quincy Hamilton scored on an assist from Karson Rice. Two minutes later Hamilton assisted Trent Hettinger to put the Greenwave up 2-0.

Both teams played even the rest of the first half.

Mattoon came out aggressive in the second half and scored five goals in first seven minutes after halftime.

Mattoon’s goals were scored by Jace Gardner, Hamilton, Hettinger, Andy Karpus, and Hamilton again. Assists came from Karpus, Jared Ruiz, Hamilton, and Gardner.

Hamilton has now scored three goals in a game twice this season.

Jason Skocy made three saves in goal for the Wave to preserve the shutout.

Mattoon (3-0) plays at Champaign Central tomorrow.

Mattoon won the JV match 3-1 on goals from Jordan Haugh, Mitchell Gergeni, and Evan Chaney.
