Mattoon’s Kylie Haacke captured both the 800 and 3,200 meter races, Macy Overton leaped a personal best on her final triple jump and two teammates also took firsts in the Newton Invitational on Monday night.

The Green Wave finished third overall in the 10-team event.

Haacke ran 13 minutes, 8.7 seconds to win the 3,200 by more than a minute and she had a 12-second victory in the 800, clocking in at 2:34.51.

Overton leaped 31 feet, 9 inches to earn the triple jump title by 3 inches – improving on her other three efforts by about a half-foot. Overton also ran the first leg on a second-place 4×100 that took second in 54.96, 1.41 seconds behind Effingham. Ryleigh Grayson, Izzy Sanders and Madison Barnes ran the other legs.

Grayson and Sanders also ran middle legs for a 4×200 relay team that set a personal best time of 1 minute, 54.5 seconds in winning that event. Jenaya Carter ran the opening leg and Maya Cook ran the anchor.

Cook heaved the put 33 feet, 1/2 inch to win the shot by more than 4 feet. Morgan Weaver, took fourth in the shot at 26-8 1/2 and set a personal best in the discus with a throw of 93-4 for second place.

Oakley Layton ran 6:28.8 to finish second in the 1,600 while Chloe Jobe took fourth in the 400 at 1:07.52.
