Shae Littleford (above) scored 12 of her game-high 29 points, including eight free throws, to help Charleston rally past Teutopolis, 54-50, and clinch the Apollo Conference girls basketball championship Thursday night at Baker gym.
The Trojans are now 11-0 in the conference with three Apollo games scheduled while the Wooden Shoes drop to 8-4.
Charleston, 12-0 overall, is scheduled to play Effingham on Monday, Lincoln on Wednesday and Mahomet on Thursday.
Littleford scored eight points as the Trojans took a 16-9 first-quarter lead that dropped to 27-25 by halftime.
Teutopolis shut down Charleston in a 12-6 third quarter, entering the final period ahead 37-33. That’s when Charleston started driving more to the basket and earning more free throws. Littleford made eight of 10 in the last quarter, Hannah Buescher made all four of her attempts and Alycia Triplet went one-for two to help the Trojans eventually take control and remain undefeated.
Triplett scored 15 points overall, grabbed 13 rebounds and had two steals. Kay Blase snagged another six rebounds and Buescher had four.
