Colton Romine earned medalist honors by firing a 76 and teammates Meade Johnson and Blaine Powers finished a few strokes back to help Mattoon take the team title in the Paris Invitational boys golf event Saturday.

Romine finished two strokes ahead of runner-up Camren Ray of Lawrenceville. Johnson took fifth by carding an 80 and Powers followed with an 81. An 86 by James Shamdin gave the Green Wave a 323 total, eight strokes ahead of runner-up St. Anthony in the 14-team event. 

Charleston finished third at 342 strokes, led by Pierson Smith’s 83 that slotted in 10th place overall. Both Josh Will and Peyton Daughtery shot 86, trailed by Jackson Becker at 87.

Other Charleston scores: Logan Beals 90, Preston Phillips 92.

Other Mattoon scores: Stewart Druin 88, Evan Diedrich 94.
