Kaitlyn Scheitler knocked in seven runs and ripped her fourth homer to lead Lake Land to a sweep of Frontier Community College, 13-1 and 16-7, on Saturday afternoon.
The Lakers are now 19-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
The Bobcats managed only three hits off Lake Land starter Rachel Kaufman in the opener. She earned two wins Saturday.
In the opener, the Lakers scored 12 of their runs in the second and third innings, relying on six hits, three for extra bases, and two Bobcat errors. Emmy Graver, Katie Nicholson, and Scheitler each doubled.
Frankie Izard (2-for-3) and Krysten Darrough (3-4) were the only multihit players. The duo also combined for five of the 13 runs scored. Nicholson led the way with three runs batted on, while tying for a team-high with two runs.
In the second game, a seven-run second inning gave Frontier a brief lead. The Lakers responded by scoring seven in the third and three in the fourth to blow open the game and end it after five innings. A Tyanna Graber grand slam led the charge for Lake Land in the third.
Four Lake Land players collected at least two hits: Scheitler (3-5), Graber (2-3), Kali Husman (2-3), and Nicholson (2-3). Graber and Scheitler each homered Kaufman earner her second win of the day after relieving starter Macy Clark to throw three innings, giving up one hit and striking out three. She improved to 10-3.
The Lakers are next in action Tuesday when they host Lincoln Trail College at 2 p.m.
