Lake Land guard Adam Price was named to the NJCAA Region 24 team, which was selected by conference coaches.

Price, a sophomore, averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds a game. He also converted 89.7 percent of his shots from the free-throw line, third best in the nation.

Lake Land coach Brandon Colvin said Price delivered the most impressive moment he witnessed as a coach when he made 23 of 26 free throws against Kaskaskia College. Price scored a season-high 41 points in the 82-81 overtime victory. “Even (for) the best players at getting to the line,” he said, “twenty-six free-throw attempts is a good three- to four-game stretch.”

Price also ranked 37th nationally in points per 40 minutes of play. He scored 20-plus points nine times and led the Lakers in scoring average, games started, field goals taken and made. Price ranked second for assists.

“Adam’s character and support from his family are two big reason he is a good player,” Colvin said. “He is always working to improve on and off the court. He is a kid that I knew every game was going to give 100 percent of what he had.”

John A Logan’s Jayden Scrubb was named the region’s player of the year.
