
Lake Land womens basketball remained No. 6 in the final NJCAA poll of the season after taking a week off.
The Lakers rolled past Southwest Illinois, 82-43, Monday night. Before that, Lake Land (26-3, 15-2 in the GRAC) had last played Feb. 15 when it defeated Southwest Illinois College 82-67.
Illinois Central moved up four spots to No. 9 after defeating then-No. 3 Lincoln Land on Saturday, 70-66. The Loggers, conversely, dropped two spots to No. 5. Illinois Central has not lost since its loss to the Lakers, a 10-game stretch.
Lake Land defeated Illinois Central 77-56 in mid-January two weeks after losing to Lincoln Land on a last -second 3-pointer in Springfield.
The Lakers next travel to face Rend Lake in their season-finale. The Region 24 tournament, which determines who advances to the national Division II tournament, takes place in Peoria on March 7-8.
