Bolstered by its bench, Lake Land rallied to defeat Kaskaskia, 88-82, to halt its nine-game losing streak in mens basketball action Wednesday night.
Ty Waller scored 16 points and Jevon Morris added 15 off the bench, which supplied 47 points overall. Waller scored 13 in the second half when the Lakers rallied to overtake Kaskaskia.
The bench proved to be a key for the Lakers, as they received 47 points from their second unit. Only one reserve for Kaskaskia scored, giving the Lakers a 47-8 advantage.
Adam Price scored a team-high 20, including 15 in the first half.
La-Queim Walker led Kaskaskia with 25 points.
The Lakers once again struggled at the line, going 18-for-34.
Lake Land is now 6-19 overall, 2-14 in Region 24 play. Kaskaskia fell to 13-12, 4-12.
