Daniel Tingley scored 12 points in a 23-point first quarter to lead Marshall to an early lead that it never relinquished in defeating Charleston 67-60 on Tuesday night in boys basketball action.
Charleston, which won last weekend’s Cumberland Turkey Tourney, falls to 3-1.
Caleb Hurst and Isaac Miller scored 17 points apiece for the Trojans. Hurst scored 11 in the second half.
Sam Bickford made three 3-pointers for 12 points and Luke Bell made two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Charleston plays tonight at Terre Haute South.
Jaksen Braun scored 28 points to lift the Charleston JV team past Marshall 65-50. Kendall Pankey and William Applegate each added 10 points.
