The Lake Land College Volleyball Team starts its postseason today when it travels to John A. Logan in Carterville for the Region 24 Tournament. The Lakers head into tournament play as the third-seeded team, with a record of 21-13 and having won seven of their last 10.

John A. Logan (27-9) is the top-seeded team, followed by Vincennes University (23-17). Kaskaskia College (20-12) with Wabash Valley College holding down the fifth spot at 14-21.

Shawnee Community College, the Lakers’ opening-round opponent, rounds out the field at 1-21.

The Lakers play their first-round game at 1:30 p.m. on Friday against Shawnee Community College. The winner of that match will then face Vincennes. The winner of the two semifinal matches will meet at 1 p.m. on Saturday, while the losers will face off at 11 a.m.

The top three places advance to the District Tournament, which will be hosted by the two Region 24 teams that play in the championship game. Those matches will take place Nov. 8-9.

The qualifying teams from Missouri and Iowa will join the Region 24 teams.
