The conference slate is starting to heat up. Lake Land has a chance to host the Regional 24 tournament if the team can continue to win. Lincoln Land, a team that was once ranked in the NJCAA Division II rankings, will travel to Lake Land to give the team another conference test.

Lincoln Land’s Past Results: Lincoln Land began the season 6-0 with familiar opponent wins over Olney Central (69-58) and Illinois Valley (84-40). The team dropped two games to Illinois Wesleyan JV and Black Hawk College-Moline. After three straight wins, Lincoln Land was beaten by Kaskaskia 66-65. Three wins over Illinois College, Millikin University JV, and Spoon River led up to a matchup against No. 9 ranked Illinois Central College. Lincoln Land lost 68-46 but then rallied to a 68-46 win over John Wood last Wednesday. Last Saturday, the team lost to No. 13 ranked Parkland 67-51.  

Lincoln Land’s Top Players: Freshman Marley Smith leads the team in scoring at 14.8 points. Smith is shooting 53.2% from the field and 68.4% from the free-throw line. Smith also leads the team in rebounding with 7.4 per game. Sophomore Addison Scarlette is right behind her with 14.0 points per game. Sophie Bedell is the best three-point shooter, shooting 41.7% from three-point range. Lake Land is averaging 69.2 points per game. Freshman Nolee Sollars is an area product out of Marshall High School.
