Since the start of the new year, the Lake Land women’s basketball team is living up to their national recognition as a top-5 team in the country. Lake Land is 6-0 since 2023 began and the No. 5 ranked team is looking to make it seven in a row with a win at home tonight.

Danville’s Past Results: After losing both games at the Moberly Classic, Danville won eight of their next 10 games. That included wins over Kankakee, Lincoln Trail, Kaskaskia, IVCC, Illinois College, Triton, Olive Havey, and Olney Central. The team has played two games since January 9th, including a 76-66 loss to ICC and an 80-64 loss to Parkland.
Danville’s Top Players: Alexus Mobley leads the team with a stellar line of 21.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game. Nevaeh Reeves, another sophomore guard, is averaging 10.5 points. The leading rebounder is Mobley, while Reeves is the second player to add at least 2.0 steals per game. The team averages 75.3 points, shooting 41.6% from the field, 27.6% from three-point range, and 67.5% from the free-throw line.
