Charleston made short work of winless Rantoul on Saturday afternoon.
Charleston relied on accurate free-throw shooting to take a 17-6 first quarter lead after making 11 of 12 attempts. Jaksen Braun went 6-for-6. The Trojans made 20 of 27 overall.
Grady Smitley scored seven points and William Applegate added three field goals in the second quarter to pad the Trojans’ lead to 23 by halftime.
The second half was never close.
Applegate scored a team-high 20 points, Braun added 13, Smitley chipped in 12 and Caleb Oakley had 10.
Charleston is now 13-7, Rantoul drops to 0-22.
