A steal resulting in a layup by sophomore Allison Logsdon gave Charleston momentum in the first quarter of its third game in the Charleton Holiday girls basketball tournament.
Charleston scored seven points before allowing Effingham to get on the board, and the Trojans held onto an 11-10 lead to end the quarter.

Unfortunately for CHS, the game turned quickly and powerfully in the second quarter. A series of 3-pointers steals and fouls quickly changed the direction of the game in the second quarter with Effingham scoring 34 points to Charleston’s 5 ,giving Effingham a 44-16 lead at the half.
The second half was no better for CHS. Effingham held the Trojans to seven more points in a second quarter quickened by a running clock.
Effingham outscored Effingham 22-7 in the second half.
