Mattoon opened their own Holiday Tournament with an 85-29 win over Eisenhower on Monday morning.
Mattoon started the game strong, not allowing Eisenhower a single point through the first quarter while scoring 28 themselves.
A combination of Mattoon playing its bench and Eisenhower (0-11) putting on the full-court press during the second quarter led to Eisenhower getting on the board with seven points, while Mattoon put up 22 to give them a 50-7 lead at the half.

Eisenhower came out strong in the third quarter, scoring 16 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down Mattoon.
Mattoon (10-1) was led in scoring by Mallory Ramage with 21 points. Lily Ghere and Piper Sanders both scored 12 and Chloe Pruitt scored 11.
“The entire team came ready to play,” MHS coach Amanda Aydt. “Those that didn’t start came off the bench and gave us some excellent minutes.”
