Charleston boys basketball fell behind early and could never recover in a 56-40 loss to host Newton.
The Eagles took a 19-11 lead after one quarter and built it to 34-22 by halftime.
Newton (9-2) entered the game averaging 54.7 points a game while allowing 46.7.
Jackson Braun matched his season average, scoring 16 points to lead the Trojans, now 8-3. William Applegate added 13, just below his 14.3 ppg average entering the game.
Charleston next competes Monday in the Effingham holiday tournament.
