Collinsville used a big first half to cruise to a 49-14 non-conference victory over Charleston in high school football action Friday night. 

The undefeated Kahoks took the opening kickoff and marched right down the field.  It was done all on the ground with running back Jerry Richardson and quarterback Kolby Anderson.  Richardson found the end zone on a 1-yard run to give the home team the lead.

Collinsville struck quickly after a Charleston four and out.  Anderson found Travion Swygeart for 46 yards on the first play of their next possession to give the Kahoks a 14-0 lead.  Collinsville closed out the quarter by scoring on a Jerry Richardson 43-yard run.

The Kahoks scored 21 more points in the second quarter on three touchdown passes from Anderson.  Two of the passes were to Darren Pinnell and the other to Swygeart.

Charleston scored in the third quarter on a 53-yard pass from Jack Nelson to Luke Nelson.  The touchdown came after sophomore defensive lineman Matthew Misner was carted off the field due to injury.

The Trojans struck again in the fourth quarter on a 12-yard pass from Jack Nelson to Wyatt Strader.  Collinsville added a score late on a 4-yard touchdown run from Mondray Crume.

Collinsville, which is 4-0, will play Mattoon next Friday at EIU’s O’Brien Field. Charleston, which drops to 1-3, next faces Mahomet-Seymour at Trojan Hill.
