Charleston shortstop Reagan McGahey earned all-state honors among Class 3A softball players from the Illinois Coaches Association after a terrific season in which the senior posted an amazing 1.627 OPS and hit .517.

McGahey, who is headed to Southern Illinois to play softball next fall, also had a remarkable .592 On-Base Percentage and 1.034 slugging percentage for a Trojans team that captured both the Apollo Conference and IHSA Regional titles.

CHS teammates Ashlynn McPeak and Karah Moore were named to the state’s second team.

McPeak slashed at a .515/.951/1.501 for average, slugging and OPS. She also led the team in home runs (8), runs batted in (32), runs scored (45) and total hits (53). The senior third baseman will play softball for Danville Community College next fall.

Moore, a sophomore, posted an 18-0 record, threw a perfect game, had a 1.61 earned run average and struck out 103 batters in 125 2/3 innings pitched.
