Charleston looks to continue their undefeated start to the season tonight, while Mattoon looks to get back into the win column.

Charleston travels to Taylorville in what could be their final tuneup game before facing the better half of the Apollo Conference. Charleston will travel to Teutopolis on Thursday and then host Effingham on Saturday. The 2-0 Trojans are coming off a week where they defeated both Mahomet-Seymour and Mount Zion.

Taylorville opened the season with a 56-36 loss to Springfield Sacred-Heart Griffin. Following that, the team has been defeated by Lincoln, 55-45, and Effingham, 39-25.

Through two games, Shae Littleford (above) leads the team with 24.5 points per game, while sophomore Alycia Tripett is averaging 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds. Newcomer Kat Blase leads the team with 11.5 rebounds per game.

For Mattoon, the Wave are hopeful to rebound from their 40-35 loss to Effingham over the weekend. In the final 17:38 of the game, Mattoon shot 6-of-44 from the field (13.6%). That included shooting 0-for-12 from three-point range.

Lincoln is also 1-1 in the conference. The team lost All-Apollo senior Leah Schneider to graduation and is mainly built around underclassman. The team features four freshman, including Apollo Conference cross country champion Becca Heitzig.

Mallory Ramage is coming off a 19-point performance against Effingham, while Delainey Bryant added 12 points.
