Mattoon lost both finals matches in Monday’s rain-delayed Apollo Conference girls tennis tournament in Effingham.

Annelise Overmyer lost a three-set match to Teutopolis’s Carley Habing, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4 singles in a match originally scheduled for last Saturday. 

And Caroline Davis fell to Teutopolis’s Isabella Hemmen at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.

The Green Wave, the defending Apollo champs, took second in five singles and doubles division, the lone titlist being Elaina Short at No. 5 singles last Saturday. 

Teutopolis, an Apollo newcomer, won all three doubles and five singles titles to earn the team championship with 60 points, 14 more than Mattoon. Charleston finished sixth among the seven teams with 10 points.
