Runners line up for the girls 3-mile race at Meadowview Golf Course.
Mattoon’s Brock Davee and Charleston’s Megan Garrett won their respective races by more than a half-minute in a quad meet held at Meadowview Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.
Davee clocked in at 16 minutes, 4 seconds to easily win the boys race, finishing 40 seconds ahead of Mt. Zion’s Julian Baker (16:44.9). Mattoon’s Trent Hettinger took third in 16:52.
“Sam (Ferrar), Trent (Hettinger), and Quincy (Hamilton) had great finishes along with many of the boys,” Mattoon coach Troy Haacke said.
Garrett eclipsed 19 minutes to win the girls race, finishing in 18:40. Mattoon’s Kylie Haacke took second in 19:10 ahead of two Mt. Zion runners while Grace Spoonhour finished fifth in 20:18.
