Two brothers from Ashmore battled it out in the Non-Wing Class at Coles County Speedway.
Wyatt Walters took the lead halfway through the race after Kameron Romack spun out at the exit of turn 2 with just under 11 laps left in the race.
The caution put Jason Lusher up a spot into second on the restart. At that point, Walters had the top spot secured. Romack and Lusher then raced side by side until the finish line, where Lusher took second by less than a length of a bumper.
Larry Drake, a Terre Haute, Indiana native, started in the back of the pack of the Multi-Class division. Drake passed the entire field, going from worst to first and winning the 20-lap feature race, his first of the season.
Ryder Adams, a retired Motocross racer, completed his 15-lap JR feature to secure his first career victory behind the wheel of a dirt track car. Brody Strong won his second straight feature race, winning in the Restrictor-Class division. Gunnar Shroyer, a Woodlawn native, led a majority of the race in earning $300 for winning the 2020 A-Class Summer Classic title.
Races at Coles County Speedway continue at 7:30 p.m. Friday. A drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:15.
