Lake Land baseball lost to both State Fair and Lincoln Land community colleges in men’s baseball at Sedalia, Missouri, on Saturday.

Trailing 10-2 in its first game against State Fair, Lake Land mounted a rally in the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits and four walks with a sacrifice fly. But the Lakers could not overcome the large early deficit in the 10-8 defeat.

Caleb Hill ripped a double and home run, scored two runs and drove in four. Keagon Brady, Quentin Helmuth and Chaz Dickerson had two hits apiece.

In game two, three Lake Land errors led to four unearned runs in a 7-2 loss to Lincoln Land. The Lakers scored their only two runs in the first inning on an Isaiah Hart single that drove in Ben Schuler and Jamie Young. The Lakers had six total hits. Hart and Helmuth each accounted for two.

Kolby Pemberton threw 5.1 innings, giving up six runs, three earned, on seven hits to fall to 0-3.

The Lakers, now 1-11, next play March 5 against Olney Central College at 3 p.m.
