Mattoon sophomore Brady Foster was eliminated from the IHSA Class 2A state wrestling championships after losing 4-0 to Thornton Fraction’s Trevor Reed in the 106-pound weight division Saturday morning at Champaign’s State Farm Center.

Foster, who had posted a 3-2 decision Friday afternoon to remain the final local wrestler alive in the meet, finishes the individual season 33-4.

He will compete with his Mattoon teammates in the state dual meet championships next week, beginning 6 p.m. Tuesday against Troy Triad at Lincoln High.

The winner of that meet advances to the state championships in Bloomington, competing against the winner between Chicago Noble-Comer and Lemont at 9 a.m. Saturday.
