Lake Land’s Rachel Kaufman drove in seven runs in three games Saturday.

Lake Land’s Rachel Kaufman tossed a shutout over Pearl Community College in the final game of three-day set in Dothan, Ala., on Saturday.

Kaufman also drove in three runs and collected two hits in the Lakers’ 4-0 victory, the second of the day against a loss.

Lake Land lost its first game 10-2 to Coastal South College-Minette before topping Snead State College, 6-4. Lake Land is now 8-3.

The Lakers scored all their runs in the first two innings against Pearl.

In the morning opener, Coastal South College–Minette scored two runs in the first and scored eight over the first four innings. The Lakers did not score until the fifth when Kaufman doubled in Frankie Izard and Kaufman then scored on an error. Lake Land College managed only five hits for the game with Kaufman taking the loss.

The Lakers took a 4-0 lead after two innings against Snead State College. Kaufman knocked in three of the four runs, with Kaitlyn Scheitler getting the only other run batted in. Kaufman drove in seven total runs Saturday, They held Snead State scoreless for the first four innings. In the fifth, Snead State cut the lead to 4-2. The Lakers responded in the seventh, scoring two runs on a single by Abrienne Lee. Snead State would add two in their part of the seventh before Lee secured the win. Krysten Darrough went 3-3 while Frankie Izard, Katie Nicholson, and Scheitler all collected two. Lee scattered eight hits and struck out two.
