
Mallory Ramage and Faith Niebrugge combined for 17 points in a decisive second quarter that lifted host Mattoon past St. Joseph-Ogden, 47-29, on Tuesday night.
Ramage scored 11 of MHS’s points in a 19-6 second quarter that gave the Green Wave a 34-16 halftime lead. She finished with 22 points overall, along with five steals and four rebounds. Niebrugge finished with seven points and two steals.
Mattoon (22-5) made only a single basket in a slow-moving, four-point third quarter, but the Green Wave, meanwhile, kept St. Joseph to just seven points.
Mattoon next plays at Effingham on Thursday.
