Hayden Stanley posted a pin in less than a minute Saturday to improve to 11-4.

Coby Haney, Kiefer Duncan, Jeremiah Jones, Gavin Jones and Hayden Stanley each recorded pins to lead Mattoon to its 15th consecutive wrestling dual meet victory – a 39-36 decision over Chatham (Glenwood) on Saturday.

Haney pinned his opponent at 120 pounds in 2 minutes, 42 seconds, to improve to 23-1. Duncan recorded a pin in 1:10 at 138 pounds to move to 16-3 while Stanley (11-4) posted a pin in 59 seconds at 170 pounds.

Brady Foster, who won by forfeit, is now 22-1 at 106 pounds.

“It takes a team effort in an individual sport to be as successful as we have been this season in duals,” Mattoon coach Brett Porter said. “Our team has been able to negate points we have to lose with forfeits by scoring bonus points in falls and major decisions.  They encourage each other during matches to score points and challenge each other to work hard in the practice room.  I am very excited to see their efforts pay off in the near future.”

The Green Wave will conclude the regular season in a triangular meet at Lincoln (with Mt. Zion) for the Apollo Conference championship on Tuesday.
