Mattoon Cobras 8-U captured a girls softball tournament championship at the Indy Sports Zone in Indianapolis this past weekend.

The Cobras went 3-1 and won the title game 23-2.

In the championship, Brooklyn Buxton singled in the first, doubled in the second, homered in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and tripled in the sixth. Keshae Cardwell, Alayna Gordon, Peyton Longcor, Brielle Hutchison, and Ava Day each drove in runs in a decisive fifth inning.
