Mallory Ramage made eight free throws in the first half and scored 15 points overall on Saturday vs ALAH.

Chloe Pruitt came off the bench to make three 3-pointers and a field goal in the second half to help lift Mattoon to its 11th straight win to start the season Saturday.

Kylie Haacke made all three of her 3-point attempts and Mallory Ramage made eight free throws in the first half for the 51-23 victory over host Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond.

Ramage finished with 15 points while Haacke and Pruitt scored 11 apiece.

“I thought ours girls did an excellent job of running our offense and reversing the ball from side to side, which led to some open shots,” said Mattoon coach Amanda Aydt. “We played well together as a team and found the open player. Our players were ready to catch and shoot.”

The Green Wave outscored ALAH 21-9 in the second quarter to go ahead 30-13 by halftime. A 19-8 third quarter essentially put the game away.

MHS plays next Saturday against Charleston in an 11 a.m. tipoff.
