Isaac Miller scored 15 points and Luke Bell added 13 in Charleston’s 62-55 loss to Taylorville in an Apollo Conference game at Baker Gym on Tuesday night.

Miller and Bell made three 3-pointers apiece.

The Trojans fell behind 20-11 after the first quarter and trailed 39-28 at halftime.

The Trojans outscored the Tornadoes in both the third and fourth quarters.

“The last four minutes of the game is how we need to play for 32 minutes,” said CHS coach Brad Oakley. “We need to trust each other a little more throughout the game.”

The Trojans, 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference, play host to Effingham on Dec. 20.

Jaksen Braun scored 20 points, 16 in the first half, to pace Charleston to its 63-53 victory over Taylorville in the JV game. Jackson Burgess contributed 14 points and Braden Rennels had 13. The JV team is now 4-0, 2-0 in the conference.
