Shea Littleford scored 33 points, but it was not enough for Charleston to hold off Effingham on Monday night in an Apollo Conference girls basketball game, 50-44.
Littleford scored 12 points in the opening quarter to give the Trojans a 15-11 lead, but Effingham held Charleston to four points in the second quarter and gained a one point halftime lead.
Littleford scored 15 more points in the final quarter but the Flaming Hearts did not allow another Trojans player to score, eventually padding their three-point lead for the win.
Charleston next plays host to Mt. Zion on Thursday night at Baker Gym.
