Charleston limited Taylorville to two field goals in the third quarter, and Shea Littleford and Erin Blair combined for 25 second-half points Monday night to lead the Trojans to a win in their Apollo Conference girls basketball opener.
Littleford scored 31 points, which included making eight of nine free throws, in Charleston’s 67-41 victory over host Taylorville.
Blair scored 14 points overall.
Littleford scored eight points in the first quarter, but Taylorville remained within a point.
Charleston padded its lead to seven by halftime, but it was a tight defensive effort in the third quarter that put the game mostly out of reach at 48-32 entering the final period.
Charleston, 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. play host to Mahomet on Thursday night.
