Lake Land’s Ashlyn Clem averaged 44 digs per match, and Laney Chiaravalle had a career-high 44 assists in a single match in the Parkland College volleyball tournament.
The Lakers went 3-1 during the two-day weekend tournament, splitting two matches against teams ranked in the NJCAA Division II poll.
Lake Land (21-13) rallied to win two five-set matches Friday afternoon over McHenry and No. 17 Carl Sandburg during which Chiaravalle set up her teammates at a personal-best rate. The Lakers then swept Illinois Valley before losing 3-2 to No. 20 Sauk Valley in five sets on Saturday.
Clem had 177 digs across four matches. Chiaravalle registered 98 assists over three matches, along with 48 digs.
Morgan Parsons recorded 19 kills, 2 blocks, 7 block assists in two matches while Katie Tarkington hit .423 in four matches, earning 41 kills, 5 blocks, and 3 block assists.
Maria Gentry had 67 total kills and 52 digs, and Ella McConkey registered 40 assists, 36 digs, and 5 aces
