Logan Reed and Zack Craig each had RBIs during a three-run fifth inning Monday to help lift Charleston Middle School to a 5-1 victory over Mattoon Middle for the regional baseball championship.
The Trojans next face Edison Middle School in Saturday’s sectional baseball championship game in Champaign.
Charlie Spoonhour scattered five hits and allowed one run to earn the victory for Charleston. He also struck out one and issued a walk
Craig and Luke Landrus each had three hits while Coy Bell had two. CMS had 11 hits overall. Bell had 11 assists for the Trojans, who did not commit any errors.
