Alex Kuykendall shot even-par 35 to lead Charleston High boys golf to match wins over Mattoon and Paris on Thursday at Mattoon Country Club.
Kuykendall recorded par on each of the nine holes played, Nos. 1-7 and 17-18.
“Alex played great,” Trojans coach Scott Dow said.
Teammate Rhyland Brady carded a 39, the third best score among the three teams.
“Every one else felt like they struggled,” Dow said. “After missing a week of play due to heat, I think every team probably feels a little rusty.”
Andrew Kuykendall posted a 40 and Hudson Meister had a 41 to complete the CHS scoring of 155 strokes, four better than Mattoon.
Mattoon High’s Brock Taylor recorded the second-best score of the day with a 38, followed by teammates Cole Larson (40), Hunter Basham (40) and Evan Diedrich (41). Will Pullen also carded a 41.
Other CHS scores: Dylan Bell 42, Zach Craig 48.
Other MHS scores: Garrett Miller 44.
Paris scores: Drake Bartos 40, Marcus Mitchell 41, Parker Underwoon 46, Lincoln Livesay 51, Sean Dunn 52.
