
Mattoon sophomore Pierre Leeman captured an individual title and teammate Stewart Druin took second in the Olympia JV wrestling Invitational on Saturday at Olympia High School.
Leeman pinned Oregon’s Isaac Brooks with seven seconds left in the championship match for the 145-pound title. Leeman had posted a 6-4 decision in the semifinals, a pin with 12 seconds remaining in his quarterfinal match and a pin 1:45 into his opening-round match.

Druin was pinned 1:40 into his championship match by Tremont’s Levi Leitner at 138 pounds. He had defeated Lincoln’s Kadin Osland, 7-2, in the semifinals and won on a technical fall when he went ahead by 15 a little more than four minutes into his quarterfinal match.
Mattoon finished 12th among the 18 teams in the high school meet with 68 points. Tremont took the team title with 173 points, followed by Lincoln at 129.
