Mallory Ramage scored 24 points and recorded six steals to help Mattoon cruise past Marshall, 56-37, and remain undefeated Saturday afternoon.
“Mallory makes everybody around her better,” Mattoon coach Amanda Aydt said. “She does a great job of making the offense run for us. She knows when to attack the basket and pull up for a shot and when to drive and then kick it to get a teammate open.”
Leading 18-12 after one quarter, Mattoon outscored Marshall 31-15 during the middle quarters to go ahead 49-27. Aydt substituted liberally in the final quarter.
The Green Wave also relied on defensive pressure that yielded 11 steals overall.
Hallie Niemerg grabbed seven rebounds and scored six points.
